Your Wedding Timeline

“ Emily, I can’t even begin to thank you for sharing this special time in our lives and making it so memorable! You are beyond wonderful to work with, and we both appreciated all of your hard work to help with making our wedding, our photos, and our flowers so beautiful! I not only feel like I’ve been able to work with such a wonderful person, but that I’ve also made a friend in the process. Thank you!  - Danielle

THE PHOTOGRAPHIC FLOW OF YOUR WEDDING

I don’t have to tell you, weddings don’t just happen. They require so much organization! To ensure a smooth flow, this timeline of wedding events can help guide your photographic planning:

GETTING READY: THE BRIDE & GROOM

1.5 to 2.0 hours

Plan additional time for photos at the salon, your getting ready location, and if you’re planning a “first look”.

THE WEDDING CEREMONY

15 minutes to 1.5 hours

The length of your ceremony may vary widely. Afterward, allow more time for formal portraits (if planned) to allow your guests to leave the church or venue.

FORMAL GROUP & FAMILY PORTRAITS

30 minutes to 1.0 hour

Formal portrait timing can vary widely depending on group size and family/group combinations.

WEDDING PARTY & THE NEWLYWEDS

1.0 to 3.0 hours

Timing can depend largely on the venue, size of the bridal party and variety of poses.

YOUR RECEPTION

2.0 to 6.0 hours

Your first dance, cutting the cake, dancing with your spouse and guests, as well as friends and family sharing your joy. Remember. Your wedding day is unique. Taking the time to determine your photographic needs, and including them in your wedding plans, will contribute to your relaxation and enjoyment of this special day.
